Nothing is set in stone and all actual distances and routes will be determined on a case by case basis depending on the weather and how the ride went the day before.  The same details can also be seen on the Calendar and you can subscribe or download the calendar in iCal, xml, and html format.

  3. Near the end of your Day 5 you will be west bound on VA 56 from the Blue Ridge Parkway to Vesuvius. I rode it during a 2010 BRP tour. It is a spine tingling descent so save some energy to ride it safely. If you find it damp in the first 100 vertical feet below the BRP, slow down as the tree canopy will keep the road wet for hours. In The Complete Guide to Climbing (by Bike) in the Southeast, this climb is rated #24 out of 50 with the descent rated at 4 – difficult due to road and/or traffic conditions. There is no traffic so the road is the challenge. There is a good re-grouping spot on the south (left) side in a church parking lot about 2/3 mile after the grade eases.

  5. Hello, my name is Kenny. We met in Berea kentucky at the local dairy queen. We had a pretty good conversation. Hope you guys are well. Have you had any luck with finding a bike shop? hope so. You gentlemen are doing a great thing. Stay strong and safe on your journey. Hope the roads are kind to you as well as the folks that you encounter along the way.
